How IrishBetGuide Works: Our Editorial Team and Methodology - smartphone in hand

Straight up: IrishBetGuide is written by a small independent editorial team, not by a famous tipster or a celebrity ex-bookie. We don't put made-up names, stock-photo faces or fake credentials on our pages. What we can give you is a clear, checkable method, so you can judge every page for yourself.

Who is behind IrishBetGuide

Every page carries the byline "IrishBetGuide team". That's honest: guides are researched, drafted and checked by the same small team, and some drafting and checking is done with software tools, including AI writing tools. A person decides what goes live, and facts that can change (licences, helplines, tax rules, bonus terms) are checked against a named source before publishing. If you'd rather see a real name on every article, fair enough; we'd rather show you no name than an invented one.

How we choose what to write

We start from real questions Irish players type into search engines, especially the specific ones big sites skip. Before writing, we read what already ranks for the question and ask: what's missing, what's out of date, what would a mate who has been burned before warn you about? Pages that would just repeat another page on this site don't get written.

How we check a betting site

Numbers, sources and dates

We don't invent statistics, win rates or "sure things". When a page states a fact that can change, it names the source and the month we checked it. Our Ireland rules and offer-terms snapshot lists the facts we rely on most, each with its source and check date. Every article shows the date it was last updated; that's the real date the page changed, not a date that rolls forward on its own.

Update and correction policy

How the site makes money

Some links are affiliate links. If you sign up and play through them, we may earn a commission, and that is how the site is paid for. It never changes what we say about licensing: if a brand isn't licensed in Ireland, the page says so, link or no link. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.

Free tools we built

Two calculators that run entirely in your browser, with nothing sent to us: the odds converter and margin calculator and the accumulator calculator. Use them to see what a price really means before you put money down.

Bet like it's entertainment

Gambling is for adults (18+) and it's never a way out of money trouble. If it stops being fun, talk to Gambling Care on 1800 936 725 (free, 24/7; from Northern Ireland 08000 886 725). Our responsible gambling page lists more support.
